Denis Milovanov

Is a chief artist of a craft-manufacturing workshop of landscape objects, sculptures and furniture of solid oak. Denis Milovanov decided to create his first pieces of wood, inspired by Pomeranian artisans. Denis believes in the idea of reusing, recycling and rethinking traditional technologies and materials.Since launching his workshop, he has been travelling across Russia to study exhibits in local history museums and immerse himself in the techniques used by Russian artisans for hundreds of years. He is also inspired by primitive art and traditional architecture of Africa.Denis chose oak wood as a material because of the beauty of its texture, resistance to rot and temperature changes and because of log diameter, which allows handcrafters to work with huge forms.

In 2013 Denis founded his handcraft workshop.

Items of Denis Milovanov are inspired by brutality and primitiveness of traditional applied art. They are notable for a rough-hewn appearance, massiveness and durability. We pay a lot of attention to material we work with and keep using only natural substances in creating our pieces. In wood crafting we use old oaks that fell down or died naturally. Some of our objects are being saturated with oil in order to emphasize natural texture and protect the wood from destructive effects of external factors. We are confident in the quality of our items and we guarantee to our clients the 100-years durability of all of them.

The workshop is located in Moscow, Russia.

All the pieces presented on the site or in the workshop are for sale or can be made according to measures. We can also design particular pieces for private interior or landscape projects. To receive the actual inventory list of items, please contact us.
